About R-SEAT
R-SEAT - Refugees Seeking Equal Access at the Table is a refugee-led international team of leaders and experts working across regions to strengthen responses to forced displacement. Through our three pillars, Engage, Connect, and Amplify, we operationalize meaningful refugee participation, connect refugee leaders and experts with institutions and opportunities, and elevate refugee expertise and solutions in national, regional, and global decision-making. Our goal is better policies, stronger refugee responses, and improved outcomes for refugees.

Participation is meaningful when…
Meaningful refugee participation occurs when refugees from diverse backgrounds have sustained influence in all fora where decisions, policies, and responses that impact their lives are being designed, implemented, and measured in a manner that is accessible, broad, informed, safe, free, and supported.
Accessible
The room, the format and the papers can actually be reached, not blocked by a visa, a language, a cost or a step.
Broad
Refugees from diverse backgrounds, rather than one person asked to stand in for everyone.
Informed
The purpose, the process and the outcome are transparent before anyone is asked to speak.
Safe
Nobody risks their protection, their family or their future by taking part.
Free
Refugees speak for themselves — no scripts, no talking points, no clearance.
Supported
The preparation, the resources and the follow-through that turn one invitation into sustained influence.
